BODY
Lay body pattern onto single layer of tear away stabilizer. Trace around. Cut a
large square of stabilizer with the traced pattern in the center. You want at least two inches all around.
Lay stabilizer onto doubled fabric. Cut doubled fabric same size as stabilizer. Place one layer of fabric right side up over wrong side of stabilizer. You should be able to lift up the two layers and see your traced line on the underside.
Take these layers over to your machine. Randomly stitch a decorative machine stitch from the lower edge to at least mid way up the doll body. I get a general idea of where the body shape is before starting to stitch. I use a Pfaff 7570 machine; the stitch I used is #202. You can also hand embroider leaves if you do not have decorative stitches on your machine. I often combine hand and machine stitching to get more depth in my work.
