Charie Wilson created La Robe De Cendrillon, the cover doll for this issue of Dolls United. Her costume is based on a gown designed by Erte in 1917. When I completed the costume I decided she needed a fabulous head piece to go with it. La Robe De CendrillonWhen asked to write an article on this doll I decided everyone might be interested in knowing how to make a headpiece for their own lovely lades. So here it goes...
I started with a simple polyform press mould of decorative pieces.
Step 1: You must be sure to brush your mould with a coating of talcum powder or baby powder. The best way is to brush it on with an old clean makeup brush it gets powder into all the little groves.
Step 2: Choose the pieces you want to use for your headpiece. Depending on the size of your dolls head it may take 3 or more pieces.
Step 3: Roll small balls of polymer clay and flatten to approximate size of piece you are making press gently into mould do not push to hard or you will find it difficult to remove your pieces. Try to keep your pieces as thin as possible or you will find them to hard to work with.
