The first technique I’m sharing is the “icy blue” skin tone on the Snow Queen Crystalline. Take a few minutes and study her face and complexion carefully. Does she look cold and icy to you? When you think of snow and ice what colors do you see in your minds eye? Does the snow have that bluish hue to it? Do you see
white and glistening ice like crystals or clear ice cycles? A shiny wet look to the snow?
Begin by getting your supplies ready. You will need paper toweling for wiping, blotting and dabbing paint. This technique is very much like doing a stencil. Only in stenciling you use a very stiff brush to dab the paint on. Here you are going to use a paintbrush and a sea sponge.
Begin by getting your paint palette tray out and squeeze some dark blue, light blue and white acrylic paint on to the tray.
Wet your paintbrush and your sea sponge. Squeeze so there is no excess water in the sponge. Run the paintbrush back and forth over your paper towel so that it is not real wet. Next get your scrap piece of muslin and a black marker pen. Be sure to have enough muslin to draw 9 doll heads.
